What is The Lab?
The Lab is the Tier 2-exclusive experimental features tab in the app. It houses experiments that are actively in development - think of it as a playground for new ideas before they either graduate to the main app or get retired. Contents rotate between releases.
🧪 Tier 2 only
The Lab tab requires the Prime Subject Patreon tier ($12.50/mo). See the Patreon Features page for the full Prime Subject perks list.
- Features may evolve, change, get retired, or graduate into the Exclusives menu (Blink Trainer and Lockdown Mode both started here)
- Expect rough edges - these are works in progress
- Your feedback (especially in the Tier 2 Discord dev chat) directly shapes which features stick around
What's Currently in the Lab
As of the most recent release, the Lab houses:
- Quiz Training - pop-quiz conditioning overlays you have to solve to dismiss
- AI Effects & Memory - let the AI decide which conditioning effects to fire based on what's happening in chat and on screen
- Webcam Games - Gaze Minigame and Focus Gaze (note: Blink Trainer graduated to the Exclusives menu in v5.9.8)
- Webcam Tracking - one-time calibration so gaze becomes an input across the whole app
Heads up - this list moves
Lab contents are explicitly experimental. Don't subscribe to Tier 2 for one specific Lab feature; subscribe because you want to be on the inside of the testing + brainstorming process. Features that prove out move to the Exclusives menu; features that don't get retired without notice.
Remote Control
📡 Now a Tier 1 Exclusive
Remote Control has graduated out of the Lab and now lives in the ★ Premium Exclusives menu. Any Patreon tier unlocks it - full details remain here for reference.
Remote Control allows another person to remotely control your app's effects from their phone or browser. Hand over the reins and let someone else run the show.
How It Works
- Click the ★ Premium button in the title bar → Remote Control
- An 8-character alphanumeric session code and a 4-digit PIN are generated
- Share both the code and the PIN with your controller (the PIN is what stops someone else from guessing your code)
- They connect via the web-based remote control page and enter both values
- They can now trigger effects on your app in real time
Permission Tiers
You choose how much control to give. Each tier includes everything from the tier below it:

Safety
🛑 Panic Button
The panic button is always available regardless of permission tier. You can stop everything instantly at any time - the controller cannot disable this.
Keyword Triggers (now the Awareness Engine)

What used to be "Keyword Triggers" in the Lab has graduated into the Awareness Engine, now a Tier 1 Exclusives feature with its own dedicated Awareness Engine guide. The summary below is kept for context; refer to that guide for the current feature set.
Keyword Triggers provide system-wide keyboard monitoring that fires multi-modal responses when you type configured keywords - anywhere on your computer.
Matching
- Plain text - simple word or phrase matching
- Regex patterns - advanced pattern matching for flexible triggers
Responses
When a keyword is detected, multiple response types can fire simultaneously:

Configuration
- Per-trigger cooldowns - prevent the same trigger from firing too rapidly
- Global cooldown - minimum time between any trigger firing
- Volume control - adjust audio response volume
- Session XP multiplier - bonus XP during active sessions
Screen OCR
Optional on-screen text scanning that detects keywords visible on your screen, with keyword highlighting when matches are found.
Trigger Management
- Add, edit, and delete individual triggers
- Import triggers from legacy Trigger Mode for easy migration
What's Coming
More experimental features will land in The Lab over time. The Lab is where new ideas are born, tested, and refined before they become full features.
